The Couple: Catherine & Ben – United Kingdom
Wedding Location: Vrede en Lust, Franschhoek
Guest List: 50 guests from United Kingdom
Design Concept: Our gorgeous couple Catherine and Ben chose the exclusive Vrede en Lust estate in Franschhoek for their romantic celebration, and wanted to create a warm and inviting space for just 50 international guests – with smart planning and large focal décor features, we transformed the glass walled venue space into a lush, elegant floral fantasy land.
The bridal table formed as a showstopping piece for this intimate luxury destination wedding, as a central statement feature that filled the room. Abundant greenery and flowers in signature shades of blush, pink, coral and burgundy crept up the central white poles and dripped from the ceiling, punctuated with modern lighting elements. Long, exposed wooden tables brought a touch of rustic charm, while settings were kept fairly minimal using different layers of texture. The second focal point during the reception was the dessert and cheese station, which was available for the guests to enjoy throughout the later part of the evening.
Our Expert Advice: When hosting an intimate wedding at a venue with vast space – you can bring in many different elements to create an appealing reception. With use of suspended florals and lighting, making use of differently styled tables and chairs, as well as bringing in stylish lounge pockets to place around the dance floor of the reception, this all allows for the open spaces to be filled with style and create the ambient warmth you are after at your wedding!
