“For this intimate luxury destination wedding, Vrede en Lust Estate was transformed into an elegant, romantic floral wonderland with a touch of rustic chic.”

Catherine and Ben’s intimate luxury destination wedding was the perfect balance of feminine romance and country chic.

The couple chose the exclusive Vrede en Lust estate in Franschhoek for their romantic celebration, with its historic Cape Dutch architecture and extraordinary views of the surrounding winelands. This presented one challenge: turning the vast reception space into a warm and inviting space for just 50 international guests. Our creative team was up to the challenge, and with smart design and large focal décor features, they transformed the glass walled marquee into a lush, elegant floral fantasy land.

The bridal table formed the showstopper piece for this intimate luxury destination wedding, a central statement feature that filled and dominated the room. Abundant greenery and flowers in signature shades of blush, pink, coral and burgundy crept up the central white poles and dripped from the ceiling, punctuated with modern lighting elements. Long, exposed wooden tables brought a touch of rustic charm, while settings were kept fairly minimal but with layers of texture: laser cut floral chargers, dove grey crockery, and soft blush crushed silk napkins tied with trace belly bands. Gold lanterns, clusters of grey pillar candles, and blush and peach dinner candles in little marble and gold holders added additional visual interest.

A second focal point was provided by the dessert and cheese station, which was available for guests to enjoy throughout the later part of the evening. Tables of various heights, sizes, and shapes were employed to create an appealing lounge pocket where guests could rest their feet and take in the hand printed customised dance floor, which was framed with stunning arrangements repurposed from the outdoor ceremony.

We had such a fantastic time, as did all our guests. It really was even better than I imagined and I’m still pinching myself to check it wasn’t a dream!”
