A picturesque venue set in the quaint town of Franschhoek played host to their celebration and was the perfect backdrop for the winelands experience that the couple were hoping for. The venue’s secret ‘lawn courtyard’ set in the middle of the vineyards surrounded by the panoramic mountain ranges set the scene for their ceremony. With simple but bold aisle details of gorgeous King Proteas and a custom made gazebo adorned with soft voile and striking mass floral arrangements in shades of whites, and the bride’s favourite colour, duck-egg blue.

Elegant vintage décor details were featured throughout the day and added beautiful thoughtful touches. For pre-drinks the guests were offered a taste of Italy with an impressive selection of cold meats, cheeses and preserves at a Charcuterie table. A comfy vintage inspired lounge pocket was set up on the lawns for the guests to relax and enjoy a typical Franschhoek summers day. A surprise was arranged for the bride and groom by the bridesmaids, which created not only amazing photographs but also a symbolic celebration of their unity. Each guest was given a white helium balloon to release and the couple a special red heart shaped balloon.

At the reception, the tables were filled with handmade stationery items and exquisitely styled floral arrangements that consisted of soft white roses, babies breath and tulips. Wooden elements added a natural texture to the table and stylized fruit and succulents added a variety of additional colour. The couple’s monogram ‘COSA’ played as a theme throughout all the wedding stationery and was even brought through in their impressive white and duck-egg blue dessert station! 

Sabrina’s exquisite couture dress almost stole the show till the couple wowed their guests with their Latin inspired first dance, which set the party mood for the rest of the evening.

Close friends and family travelled from far to celebrate the couple’s marriage in Leigh’s native country as they had their civil ceremony in Switzerland, where the couple reside. Guests were welcomed with beautiful summer weather and the soft sounds of Mali and Me, an upbeat folk acoustic band with pretty harmonies from Knysna.

Sandrine’s love affair for all things vintage was the basis for the décor throughout the day. This was perfectly reflected through the rustic, wooden gazebo that was custom made for their ceremony, which was adorned with King Protea’s, greenery, and shades of pink. Following the ceremony was the traditional pre – drinks on the patio overlooking Hawksmoor House’s famous views with delicious Pimms cocktails. The couple wanted to bring in local influences throughout their menu and give their guests a genuine South African experience, so bowls of chunky biltong, Bobotie springrolls and fun “Ice Lollies” in watermelon and strawberry daiquiris were served throughout pre – drinks.

The reception was set up in the beautifully rustic ‘Blue Barn’ where our design team used handpicked vintage pieces, natural elements and personal touches. An array of handmade lamp shades were suspended above the tables and charming details such as antique cutlery wrapped together with twine and personalised name cards finished off the chic. A custom printed napkin with the menu and farm fresh biltong in a drawstring bag was placed at each setting as a memento to take home. Flowers in shades of pink and green mixed amongst succulents filled the tables and were further complimented with vintage teacups, glass domes and wooden accents.

The dancefloor was set outside under a canopy of pastel coloured Chinese lanterns. One of Cape Town’s best Dj’s supplied the entertainmaint whilst a surprise fire dancing performance was the highlight of the evening. For our team, this wedding showcased the unique level of attention that can go into every little detail from personalised wedding gifts, designer stationery and custom made menus!

The wedding day can only be described as an absolute feast for the eyes! Soft indigenous field flowers mixed with delicate clusters of dusty coloured roses, lilies, dahlias, lisianthus and chinks in antique vases, silver tea pots and glass bell jars adorned the elegant tables. Vintage books tied together with ribbon and lace served as elements of height on the table for candles in mother of pearl and glass containers. Vintage sewing machines not only contributed towards the theme as decorative features but also became the menu which was printed on beautiful ostrich shell coloured canvas and woven through the machines. Soft pink water glasses, studded glass base plates added a touch of French inspired glamour to the tables. Individual pots of aloes and cacti accompanied by strings of pearls, antique book bricks and candles were heaped together in little nooks especially created as areas of interest for the guests. With the glow of fairy lights hovering above the tables, the evening was nothing short of magical.
