The Story:

Another cross Atlantic love affair makes its début today – and what a vivid one too! Born in the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia, tropical beauty, Malika, fell head over heels for the suave South African born, Wamkele. Their love story continued to flourish in The Big Apple, until they decided a destination wedding to Cape Town would truly seal the deal. Combine guest lists from both countries, and throw in some New Yorkers for good measure, and that’s the perfect recipe for one cross-Atlantic celebration of note!

After choosing a venue in the Stellenbosch winelands with wrap around vistas of mountain ranges and vineyards, the couple realized that with such an incredible venue as a starting point, only the best would suffice, down to the very last detail. They wanted their guests to experience genuine luxury and quality – and our team ensured their vision would be materialized! Three key elements that would contribute to the success of the wedding were also foreign. Flown in directly from the Caribbean for the St Lucians – Chairmans Reserve rum. Flown in exclusively for those with a refined palate –French Champagne. And finally, the single and most important element that could make or break their party – the music. Two DJ’s were flown into Cape Town; DJ Luthando Tibini from Johannesburg and trendy DJ Shortman from New York. A close friend of the couple, DJ Shortman also went as far as to make a CD for each guest, on which he had expertly mixed some of the best of St Lucian and South African songs that the couple themselves had hand selected.

With all the details in place, Malika and Wamkele’s cross-Atlantic celebration started from the moment guests arrived on the estate. After the ceremony, guests broke out into spontaneous song and dance – and that continued straight through to the colourful reception! Shades of purple and violet dominated the décor and beautiful hydrangeas added vivid colour to the venue. Towering arrangements and submerged orchids were illuminated once the sun set bystrategically placed lighting concepts that really brought the tablescapes to life.

With all the right ingredients perfectly in place, this all day and all night celebration proved yet again that no matter where you are in the world – if all the perfect details work beautifully together combined with an international guest list, you will be guaranteed a party like no other!
