Kylie and Richard’s luxury wedding in the Cape Winelands was nothing short of amazing. This adorable local couple chose to bring all their favourite people to the incredible Cavalli Estate, where they could soak in the magic of verdant vineyards, indigenous fynbos gardens, and the magnificent Helderberg mountains. It was the perfect early summer’s day, drenched in Stellenbosch sunshine, with barely a cloud in the sky. To complement all this natural beauty, we employed a rich jewel box of colours for the event palette, including purple, cream, coral and crimson. This played out especially beautifully in floral displays at both the ceremony and reception. A perfect celebration of this modern love affair!

Throughout the planning process, Megan from the Wedding Concepts team pulled together a rich tapestry of styling and design influences, and presented them to the delighted couple. These were seamlessly brought to life on the day, starting with the ceremony. It took place in Cavalli’s sunken garden, a formal, hedged enclosure that is one of the highlights of the venue. It was the perfect intimate setting for family and friends to celebrate the love and marriage of the bride and groom. We decorated the garden with clean, modern pieces, including a classic white aisle and white ceremony seating. The key visual focus was a three-metre custom made ceremony arch, which was decked in spectacular colourful blooms and green foliage.

The reception for this luxury wedding in the Cape Winelands was held in Cavalli’s main event space. It is characterised by its floor to ceiling sliding glass doors, which allows natural light to spill into the venue. We wanted to bring focus to the ceiling, using suspended floral and lighting features, and creating interesting and unique shapes and styles. To do this, we custom made square frames and hung bright and bold flowers from them at different heights and angles. This created a beautiful curved shape across the ceiling. Each floral display was slightly different, incorporating interesting textures and a variety of floral and greenery accents. We also mixed in crystal chandeliers of different sizes, including fringed chandeliers that were especially created for this wedding. Naked bulbs were also added between the fringing to bring in some extra modernity.

We also wanted to create a lush and luxurious floral installation, which gave that ultimate ‘wow factor’ entrance as guests arrived. The opulence of the floral installation was again reflected in custom trellises that were placed behind the bridal table and decorated with romantic blooms and lush greenery. At the centre of the room was the exquisite cake, which was placed on a custom round cake plinth in a gorgeous warm coral colour. The tables were kept relatively simple and elegant, with masses of white pillar candles and tall dinner candles providing a warm and intimate ambience that carried through the evening, and long into the perfect summer’s night.
