From the moment you meet Nqobile and Bheki, you can’t help but be drawn to their infectious joy and love for one another! Bheki was the type of groom who constantly makes jokes, simply to hear his beautiful bride laugh. Nqobile loves all things elegant, luxe and glam, and the pair envisioned a luxury designer wedding in the South African winelands with heaps of customisation and personalised details to add that special wow factor. Delivering on the promise of our Wedding Concepts Design Experience, we brought their dream wedding to life, transforming Molenvliet into a glittering vision in shades of champagne, gold and blush, dripping with lush florals and peppered with distinctive details that made it an occasion to remember.
The ceremony took place on the estate’s manicured lawns, with a backdrop of the Stellenbosch mountains. The focal point was an impressive 3.5m gazebo, topped with a solid floral band of creamy roses and dripping orchids, with soft white fringing. The couple’s signature wedding monogram adorned the contemporary white aisle, while transparent plinths on either side of the entrance bore a modern geometric pattern that was also carried through multiple décor elements of the bespoke event design.
Before the reception began, guests enjoyed cocktail hour in a luxury outdoor setting. Three central cabanas connected by lush draping housed stylish lounge pockets that reflected the wedding’s modern, elegant aesthetic. These overflowed into styled cocktail and café tables where guests could sip bubbly as the sun set and the mountains turned pink behind them.
The crowning glory came in the form of the dazzling reception. Molenvliet’s event space had been transformed into a breathtakingly glamorous candlelit dining room, replete with flowers, crystal chandeliers, and glittering tables. A set of arches – reflecting the signature pattern used throughout the design – formed a regal backdrop to the sweetheart table, while a mix of both round and rectangular tables for the guests added visual interest. Hanging ribbons and crystals dripped from the ceiling above the dancefloor, along with a central chandelier brimming with blooms. It was the perfect place to dance the night away, but for guests who chose to slip away for a few minutes, we styled a blush ladies’ after-dinner champagne lounge and a whisky and cigar lounge for the gents.
