“This intimate family-focused wedding in South Africa's winelands combined elegant rustic alfresco dining with soft, romantic touches.”
We love creating every carefully-thought-out design detail of our luxury destination weddings in South Africa, and at the heart of each celebration is always the people. That’s what made Marcile and David’s intimate, family-focused wedding so special, the kind that lingers in our memories long after the last peony has faded.
To complement the refined country setting, the couple chose a colour palette of midnight blue, dusty pink, sage green, lavender, and peach tones that moved into a sophisticated burnt orange. The look was effortless and elegant – perfect for an outdoor celebration in the graceful shadow of the estate’s Cape Dutch architecture.
This gorgeous couple hail from Tasmania, and chose to celebrate their union with just a close circle of friends and family. This included their five children, who were all part of the wedding (and made the cutest mini attendants as you can imagine!). Their venue of choice was the exquisite Boschendal Estate in the Cape Winelands, where we created a beautiful alfresco experience for them.
From ceremony to reception, where the couple and their guests dined under the stars to the groovy beat of the Bottomless Coffee band, everything was elegant, romantic, and most of all personal.
For the reception, we created a magical space consisting of a 2 long, wooden tables beneath cabanas for a warm and intimate atmosphere. We lightly draped the wooden structures to add extra dimension and soften the look, and dressed them with floral arrangements of different sizes. The visual highlight was the basket lighting with naked bulbs suspended above the centre of the table, which added a whimsical, eclectic feel. On the tables, cobalt blue glassware contrasted with the blush and white centrepieces, with burnt orange napkins adding an earthy finishing touch. The overall feeling was one of a stylish summer family meal.
With candles flickering and laughter punctuating the balmy evening air, the Bottomless Coffee band struck up a tune, and Marcile and David danced happily into their future together.
