Take our word:
A relaxed garden wedding can easily become an elegant, stylish affair – by using lush florals, fresh country colours and customised lighting in a glamorous marquee setting. Relaxed lounge pockets and bespoke designer details are of course part and parcel this beautiful country celebration.
The Story:
A sophisticated garden wedding – relaxed, elegant and understated – was Tembakazi & Mateli’s brief to our team, in transforming the magical 5 star Kurland Hotel & Polo Estate in the heart of the famous Garden Route.Offering the perfect blend of old world charm and modern sophistication the vast gardens proved to be the perfecting setting for this designer marquee wedding.
Proceedings began in the Rose Garden on the estate where the couples’ guests were greeted with arrival refreshments and a view onto the customised altar covered with shades of periwinkle ribbon. The bride’s strikingly gorgeous feather and lace wedding dress personally designed by top fashion designer, Terrence Bray – set the scene for their intimate outdoor ceremony filled with song and prayers setting the tone for an elegant evening ahead.
After pre-drinks, sumptuous canapés and outdoor lounge pockets overlooking the vast Tsitsikamma Mountain Range – the 250 guests arrived to the reception in awe, with a striking marquee nestled in front of the Polo Pavilion on this stunning 700 hectare private estate. One could not help but be impressed by the naturally stunning settingthat played host to this bespoke wedding.
In true Wedding Concepts fashion – the design details, the stationery, the lighting & floral installations had of course been carefully designed together with the couple. Tembakazi had her heart set on the subtle shade of the colour periwinkle that formed the basis for all the décor and conceptual elements that filled the stunning marquee. Bursting with beautiful arrangements of spring inspired florals the soft garden colours took centre stage on the reception tables. An array of stunning floral varieties such as Proteas, pink St. Joseph lilies, purple wisteria, yellow cymbidium orchids, penny gum and garden roses – created this glamorous country celebration.
The hand-made 5 tiered wedding cake became the focal attraction on the periwinkle-coloured dance floor. Withdesigner laser cut collars specifically made to wrap around each tier, the cake perfectly finished off the hand-crafted décor touches.
The talking point of the evening though – was the glamorous cluster of lights along the apex of the 800 sqm marquee that our team designed. 250 lanterns in shades of periwinkle, silver and white created the ultimate wow factor!
The heart-warming speeches from family and friends tied together this incredible destination wedding – with guests having journeyed from around the country to share in the celebration. Choosing the wedding date around the celebration of Heritage Day was not a coincidence but to show the couple’s love for South Africa and to join together with closest friends and family to celebrate their home land, love and unity of marriage! As our first flagship marquee celebration along the Garden Route, we couldn’t have agreed more!
