Iva and Javier celebrated their destination wedding in the picturesque setting of the Cape Winelands – where 60 of their closest friends and family traveled from across the world for not one but two celebrations to commemorate their special day. The weekend started with an impressive evening at Delaire Graff Estate filled with fine dining, award-winning wine, heart-warming speeches and spectacular views – a teaser for the main event that was to follow!

The traditional Catholic ceremony was kept understated, with a few key design elements that subtly introduced the classic colour scheme of ‘All white’. Our Wedding Concepts design signature came in where we conceptualised a look and feel for the evening that translated the couples taste and style. Before the guests were able to enter the reception space, Iva and Javier were able to get a sneak peak and quietly take in all the glamorous detailed touches that our team had created for them.

The reception space at Molenvliet Estate was completely transformed into an elegant masterpiece where no detail was spared! The room was beautifully draped to provide an intimate atmosphere and a combination of round and rectangle tables were styled with striking, all-white, mass floral arrangements consisting of pure white roses, hydrangeas and cascading orchids. The addition of crystals that adorned the tall arrangements together with the cut-crystal glassware and silver table details all added the right amount of glamour to this timeless setting!

For our team this wedding was a beautiful translation of timeless simplicity – designing and coordinating a destination wedding filled with incredible and unique settings, bespoke details and an overall luxury experience for both Iva and Javier and their international guest list – traits we pride ourselves on!

Despite JP’s blossoming rugby career having relocated them both to Japan; and with a 7 hour time difference, both Megan and JP were incredibly hands on for the duration of the wedding planning process. Both had a specific vision for their celebration and with this in mind the Wedding Concepts team’s objective was to create a look that would be timeless in design, understatedly elegant and incorporating the “all-white” on-trend colour palate.

What turned out to be a perfectly sunny day in the middle of the Cape winter, the classic ceremony set the tone for the elegant, black–tie celebration ahead! An afternoon alfresco soiree followed where guests were able to indulge in  sumptuous canapés, a handcrafted gin bar, charcuterie, cheese and coffee stations. Adding a fun digital aspect to their celebration and to capture every moment, the couple encouraged the guests to take photos throughout the day and to share them on social media with their personalised hashtag.

As the sun set over the magnificent Helderberg Mountains, the guests were ushered into the stylish reception space and welcomed with a glass of champagne whilst taking in the modern yet edgy décor scheme. Our design teams décor rationale was that the overall look and feel would remain clean, uncomplicated and modern, with white being used as the highlight colour. Striking floral features were suspended from the roof and seemed to perfectly float over each of the beautifully white cladded dinner tables and the classic black and white checkered dancefloor was a classic focal feature. This look was carried through on the dinner tables with a beautiful assortment of white flowers, crystal vases and touches of gold all tied together with contemporary mirror accents.

The in-style predominantly white colour palette worked flawlessly within the reception space and custom-made black and gold stationery elements added an fashionable touch to finish the look off perfectly.

The evening was filled with memorable speeches including some from JP’s fellow rugby players, a delectable three course menu and an impressive late night snack station. A highlight for the evening was definitely the couple’s emotional first dance to John Legend and Sam Smith’s ‘Lay Me Down’ – that eventually that had all their guests join them on the dance floor to share in on the special moment.
