“A delightful and romantic winelands wedding with fun pops of yellow and white.”
Hailing from the little town of Leamington, which can be found on New Zealand’s North Island, Helena & Andrew described their vision of their wedding as “stunning – but simple!”. Already having booked an overland holiday to Namibia and South Africa, these keen adventurers sought our bespoke service and insider knowledge on how to make this stunning, but simple wedding day a reality.
Although their immediate families knew about it, this romantically spirited couple chose to have a secret and intimate wedding having decided against a larger & lavish event with family being scattered across the globe. Once we received their planned holiday itinerary, both our Travel and Wedding team devised up the perfect intimate wedding proposal, which they absolutely loved! We booked Helena & Andrew into the exclusive Mont Rochelle Vineyard Boutique Hotel in Franschhoek, which has one of the most spectacular views of this picturesque wine valley. Their beautifully manicured gardens made for the most idyllic setting for an intimate ceremony.
At Wedding Concepts we pride ourselves on the beautiful details that personalise each celebration – no matter the size of the guest list. Helena & Andrew expressed that they both liked the colour yellow but wanted to create a fun mix with white accents. A delightful choice for a couple very much in love and wanting a fun pop of colour! We decided on a colourful mix of floral pomanders and white Chinese lanterns with ribbon details to hang from the majestic oak tree, under which they would their exchange vows. Helena’s bouquet was a beautiful arrangement of indigenous silver brunia mixed amongst colourful garden roses and ranunculus flowers. Andrew’s boutonnière complimented the colour scheme and reflected the joyous occasion perfectly.
After celebratory snacks and glasses of sparkling wine, the couple headed over to international award winning restaurant, Le Quartier Français, where a 9-course gastronomic surprise menu – with matching wines – awaited them. This made for a memorable and very special meal from one of the most renowned chefs and restaurants in Southern Africa.
The celebrations did not end there! The next day Travel Concepts arrange an unforgettable Cape Peninsula tour for this charming couple – by helicopter! Having never been to South Africa before, this was truly an experience of a life time and a unique chance to see Cape Town and the surrounding natural landscape from an incredible view point.
