London based Nigerian couple, Olamide and Sefunmi are one of those rare and exceptional couples that did not hesitate to completely put their trust into our creative décor and design team. They were sure about their favourite colours they liked but unsure what to do with them. Enter the Wedding Concepts design team – a spectacular colour palette was born!

To keep the bold reception design as a surprise however, the colour scheme was slowly introduced to guests throughout the day.

The ceremony was kept elegantly stylish with opulent white florals and Cape Town’s historic St. George’s Cathedral (the oldest cathedral in Southern Africa) offering the “wow factor” setting. Guests were treated to a moving traditional Anglican wedding service beneath the Cathedral’s magnificent and towering stained glass windows.

Pre-dinner drinks took place under grand oak trees where a fantastic assortment of interactive food stations offered a mix of West African and South African cuisine and tapas styled fare. A marimba band kept guests entertained with their classic and upbeat mix of Nigerian and South African music.

The traditional Nigerian wedding outfits all in the “colour of the day” added a further stunning riot of colour to the room, and as guests took their seats it became evident that every single detail was meticulously thought out and planned with Lami and Sefunmi’s sense of style and personalities in mind.

From the handcrafted wedding stationery, the personalized place settings to the thoughtful favours that each guest received. On the tables themselves, Ming Vases added a touch of luxurious style, whilst an assortment of exotic fruit created a feeling of attending a modern and grand Baroque feast! Some special tables received a lush canopy of draping orchids, gold foliage and crystal chandeliers to create a sense of intimacy, whilst others were adorned with towering and striking mass arrangements. All in the bold shades of vibrant happiness & glamour!
