“Cerkia and Andre dreamed of a stylish yet simple wedding to enjoy with their family and close friends. By keeping the décor strikingly classic in the sophisticated seaside setting, the overall look was romantic, timeless and contemporary.”
Every city in South Africa has a famous landmark hotel. For Durban, one of the most distinguished and most loved – has to be The Oyster Box Hotel. Perfectly situated on the ocean’s edge in Umhlanga and exuding old world elegance like no other hotel in the region, this would be the impressive location of our next Durban wedding!
Cerkia and Andre dreamed of a stylish yet simple wedding to enjoy with their family and close friends. By keeping the décor strikingly classic in the sophisticated seaside setting, the overall look was romantic, timeless and contemporary.
Adorned with luxurious draping and mirrored walls and ceilings, The Pearl Room at the Oyster Box was the perfect blank canvas from which to fashion an impressive celebration. With glorious hand-blown Venetian glass chandeliers and stunning views of the iconic lighthouse and the Indian Ocean, the tablescapes were designed to compliment its surroundings. Our design team chose to stick to striking floral features by using only one type of flower – the Protea. Placed in glass vases with a modern twist, white and soft pink King Proteas were arranged amongst an abundance of floating candles down the center of each reception table. The volume of candles played a huge role in creating a warm, romantic and inviting ambience. White leather Versailles chairs provided the final and ultimate designer touch.
Like Cerkia’s dress, the wedding stationery that appeared throughout the day was handmade, expertly designed and pure couture. Following the same recipe from the reception décor, our design team combined the classic age-old technique of letterpress with modern lazercutting and finishing each element with contemporary font layouts and styles in black and white.
Ultimately, Cerkia and Andre’s celebration was a perfect match of timeless sophisticated style, finding its equal counterpart in modern wedding design.
